Informal Meetings Offered at BCAD Office Beginning April 22, 2026

Beginning April 22nd and continuing through May 15th, informal meetings regarding properties appraised by Brazos CAD will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Meeting times will be Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Because of this process, it is possible there could be extensive wait times to see an appraiser. To help expedite wait times, as well as the informal meeting process, please have any information or evidence ready before you arrive at the appraisal district office. Examples of evidence or information that is helpful are:

  • Closing statements
  • New construction cost information
  • Depreciation schedule
  • Pictures of the property
  • Repair estimates
  • Fee appraisal
  • Income & expense information
  • Blueprints

Property owners that prefer not to wait to meet with an appraiser during the above-mentioned time frame may drop off or mail in their notice of protest.  If you would like to meet informally with an appraiser before a formal hearing, please indicate in the appropriate checkbox on the protest form.  Scheduled informal meetings will begin May 19th.

Please do not file an online appeal and come to the office for an informal meeting. Online Appeals will be reviewed by the appraisal district staff and evidence provided by the property owner will be considered. If requested, an appraiser will generate and send CAD evidence through the online appeals portal and an offer sent if the property owner or CAD evidence indicates a change in value should occur. Accounts not receiving a settlement offer or those that declined a settlement offer will be scheduled for a formal hearing with the Brazos ARB.
